One of my absolute favorite parts of Mexico City was how easy it is to stumble upon hidden gems – from book fairs, to parades, to amazing street food there was something new waiting around every corner. Some of my favorite street markets were in Polanco and Coyocán near the Frida Khalo Museum – both have lots of options for food and shopping.

let’s taco ‘bout food

La Fonda Margarita – A no frills, authentic breakfast spot.

Mercado Roma – Chic food hall with a great rooftop beer garden.

Churreia “El Moro” – the best churros in Mexico City!! Be prepared to wait in line but it’s so worth it.

Resturante Bar la Opera – Little fancier bar + restaurant.

Cafe el Popular – Traditional Mexican diner.
